Tet Festival

Lunar New Year, Vietnam's biggest holiday (between January 20 and February 21, depending on the year).

It's a unique opportunity for Vietnamese travellers to reunite with their families while paying homage to their ancestors.
At the heart of this experience is a profound belief in ancestor worship, reminiscent of the Vietnamese proverb: "When exploring new horizons, it is essential to remember one's roots, like the water that takes us back to its source".

Explore tailor-made trips that celebrate these significant moments and immerse yourself in the cultural essence of Vietnam.

Temple of the Hung Kings

Temple of the Hung Kings, located around 90 kilometers from Hanoi in Phu Tho province, on our tailor-made trip. This iconic Vietnamese festival honors the 18 Hung Kings, the visionaries who founded the country as its first emperors. The event is divided into two highlights: the ceremony and the festival.

One of the most memorable moments of this festival is the splendid palanquin procession and solemn incense offering at the Upper Temple (Den Thuong) on the 10th day of the third lunar month.

The festive atmosphere is enhanced by traditional games such as human chess, bamboo swings and rice-cooking competitions.

Thang Long Water

Thang Long Water Theatre, originally from the city of Hanoi, presents one of Vietnam's most unique cultural spectacles: a performance of water puppetry. This ancestral art, rooted in the Red River delta for over a thousand years, continues to captivate audiences today.

The origins of this art form date back to the 11th century in the Red River delta in northern Vietnam. At that time, rice farmers began making puppets and staging shows to entertain their families and the community once the arduous harvest season was over.

What's more, they were convinced that these representations kept malevolent spirits busy, keeping them away from any potential harm to their cultures.
